Maha Shivarathri festival and the cattle fair are held every year in the premises of the Math for about a fortnight. The daily assemblage is of the order of about 75,000 persons and 5,000–6,000 cattle from all over the state. During these days, all the pilgrims are provided with free food.

A large-sized Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition is also organized during this jatra for fifteen days. Many Central and State Government Departments, Industrialists, Manufacturers and Merchants participate in this Exhibition. The exhibition, though held in a rural area, compares very well with any other Exhibition organized in big cities.

Cultural activities like dramas, music, and classical dance programmes are also arranged during this period. Thus, by providing entertainment during the jatra time in a religious atmosphere, Sree Swamiji brought about cultural and social awakening and a spirit of reverence for values in the common people — besides exposing farmers to updated methods of farming.
